Nico Wanandy, one of our associates, is a researcher from the University of New South Wales Sydney at the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science. Since 2015 Nico Wanandy has intensified the fertility recovery program of degraded land in Indonesia due to the use of chemical fertilizers and / or a combination of other factors such as insecticides, pesticides and fungicides. The ability of planting media, especially soil, which is declining is a major threat to future generations especially in terms of food security if not addressed and responded immediately.
Various engineering and agricultural production interventions to accelerate and enlarge the harvest often lead to other problems, such as pest population explosions and plant resistance to pests. Nico Wanandy demonstrates that an organic approach is possible to restore plant media health, food security and the environment. The interesting of Dr Wanandy endeavor is his passion working with small farmers through a leading by example approach. He is eager to work with a-pioneer-type-of-person, people who are willing to away from their comfort zone, and people whose sacrifices inspire others, in promoting his mission: “Liberating the Earth from synthetic chemicals.”
Warm regards,
